“Living in Philly” interview series where realtor Cherise Wynne (“Agent Lady”) highlights interesting people & organizations in the civic, real estate, restaurant and lifestyle space that help first time home buyers navigate our great city of Philadelphia.
Northeast Marketing Manager
Agent Lady: When people ask that famous question “what do you do”, how do you typically answer?
Beth: I am Snap Kitchen’s Northeast Marketing Manager, which means I assist in all local activations for the Snap Kitchen brand, including new store openings (we now have 9 in the Philly area), events, partnerships and outreach. I also assist with any catering orders that come in as well!
Agent Lady: What does Snap Kitchen do, what neighborhood(s) does it provide products/services in, and what do you find special about those Philly areas?
Beth: We offer healthy, handmade meals for busy people. A healthy solution that doesn’t sacrifice taste or convenience, as well as a solution for those who are following a specific dietary lifestyle such as Vegan, Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Whole30, Paleo and everything in between. In our commissary kitchen in Kensington, we have a team of over 70 people who create each dish by hand, daily, from scratch. They then portion it perfectly, weighing it out to specifications handed down by our Chef/Dietitian team at Headquarters, label it, and package it for sale. Our distribution team then delivers it to each of 9 Philadelphia-area shops, including Fishtown, Old City, Midtown Village, Bella Vista, Rittenhouse, Fairmount, Villanova, Malvern and Wayne locations. We find our commissary location special because it is part of a vision that Maken Studios has to revitalize and create jobs in the Kensington neighborhood. Each of our shops really brings something unique to the area that it’s in – we’re not a grocery store, we’re not a convenience store, we’re somewhere in between. To use the words of our CEO, David Kirchhoff, in a recent Forbes interview: “If Whole Foods and 7-Eleven had a baby, it would be Snap Kitchen.”
Agent Lady: How do you believe Snap Kitchen is making Philadelphia better?
Beth: In addition to the 100+ jobs created in the area, we also make sure to give back to the communities we are a part of. Daily, our unsold food is donated to partner organizations through Philabundance and Food Connect. In fact, we donated over 360,000lbs of food just to Philabundance’s partners just last year. We are also passionate about promoting healthy living within our cities. In 2016, our first year in Philly, we partnered with the City of Philadelphia and Vea Fitness on the citywide initiative Philly Free Streets, which encouraged healthy and active transportation over a 10-mile route closed off to vehicle transportation.
Agent Lady: If you had to choose between a Philly cheesesteak or a Philly pretzel, which would you choose?
Beth: Even though I’m Vegan and Gluten free, I would have to say the Philly Cheesesteak. It’s iconic. My husband always goes to Campo’s Deli in Old City for his cheesesteaks.
Agent Lady: What’s the biggest misconception people have about your industry or type of organization?
Beth: I think a lot of times ‘healthy’ food has this stigma around it, because healthy really can mean different things to different people. We have chefs and dietitians who work tirelessly to create the perfect meals for every menu launch – even if that means tweaking the same dish over and over again until it’s just right. We focus on the food, make sure our meals are set to high standards and believe in radical transparency with our ingredients. And since our meals are designed and built from scratch for almost any lifestyle – paleo, vegan, gluten free, Whole30 or just plain foodie – you can trust that healthy has a clear definition with us.

Agent Lady: What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
Beth: I’m a to-do list freak with a color-coded calendar, and I’ve recently become crazy about making vision boards.
Agent Lady: What is your favorite word?
Beth: Efficient.
Agent Lady: If you had to pick another career what would it be?
Beth: I have a hard time answering those types of questions, because I want to experience everything. Is there a job for that?
Agent Lady: For anyone looking to buy their first home in Philly or move to the Philly area, what do you have to say to them?
Beth: There is nowhere like Philly. City life? Got it. Walkability? You bet. Greenery and beautiful parks? Look no further. Culture – Which museum do you want to visit first? Fitness and health – which run or yoga club should we join today? I always say that Philly is like one big neighborhood, and we take care of each other. I’m not quite sure you’d find that anywhere else.
Agent Lady: If someone wanted to learn more about you or Snap Kitchen, where could they go?
Beth: You can definitely contact me on LinkedIn, attend one of many networking events I go to in the city (I currently serve on the board of the Professional Women’s Roundtable, and Party Partners of Philadelphia), or wander in to a Snap Kitchen store!
