It’s the most wonderful time of year again! Every year Philadelphia goes all out with its Christmas spirit and displays thousands of twinkling lights throughout the city. However, being one of the best cities in America, Philadelphia takes their Christmas lights up a notch by adding some music and turning the display into a full blown light show!
Grab your loved ones, throw on a scarf, and make sure to get out and admire these beautiful and creative Philly light shows this holiday season. Don’t forget to grab some hot chocolate while you’re out!
Dilworth Park
At the center of Philadelphia, the festivities never seem to disappoint. With a brand new Deck the Halls light show this year, visitors and admirers can watch a wonderful light show projected on our beloved City Hall.
Afterwards, grab a pair of ice skates and zip around the rink under string lights. Settle down with some hot chocolate or a glass of wine at the Winter Lodge.
Miracle on 13th Street
Make your way down south to the 1600 block of 13th street to admire the chaotic Christmas lights strung between row homes and put up in windows. Now a national sensation, this Philly block goes all out with their Christmas decorations. Each house has its own story to tell, stand out front and see if you can figure out what it is.
Macy’s Christmas Light Show
For over 50 years, Center City’s Macy’s has presented a beautiful Christmas light show to shoppers and visitors. Equipped with 100,000 lights that play along with the Wanamaker Organ, admirers can catch the show every two hours.
So, whether you’re doing some gift shopping or were taking a look at the window displays, take a few minutes to look up and enjoy the show.
Franklin Square Park
If you’re looking to take a walk through a Light Show Wonderland, Franklin Square Park is the place to do it. Watch 50,000 lights dance along to music in a large light show. Grab a steaming cup of hot chocolate as you one of two shows (or stay for both!) and snuggle up with a loved one.
The Comcast Holiday Spectacular
Step in from the blistering cold to watch the Comcast Holiday Spectacular show in the lobby of the Comcast Center. Look up at the LED screen and watch some of Philadelphia’s own ballerinas dance in a winter wonderland during the 15-minute production.
