Brewerytown…that interesting part of North Philadelphia that seems to be stuck somewhere between gentrification, preservation, and new construction. With so much going on over there, I think it’s noteworthy to briefly speak about the sometime blurry neighborhood lines, along with a big mover and shaker in the area.

One of the biggest players in this Philadelphia neighborhood is MM Partners, who have been active property managers and developers of homes for sale in Brewerytown since 2001. They manage large apartment structures and mixed-use commercial buildings with a goal of achieving sustainability with high quality and modern designs. In regards to the blurry lines and booming development in this area, per MM Partners facebook page, artist Sarah Peoples has drawn several colorful maps of Brewerytown showing new and old business establishments. MM Partners published the latest map on their local Brewerytown website (Brewerytown Living) which shows very rapid changes when compared to the current map.

Brewerytown, known as an iconic urban neighborhood has been welcoming establishments like Marathon Grill’s Urban Farm, Mugshots Cafe and Color Wheel Bike Shop to be part of the rapid growth, along with established neighborhood businesses Music Box Records, Nagelberg Hardware and Girard Vet Clinic.
As development grows and blurs the strict boundaries of this part of Philly, residents can also enjoy nearby Fairmount Park’s Lemon Hill, Kelly Drive, Girard College events, the Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Zoo.
